About us
Tearline is an independent voice on cybersecurity, for people who want to understand it rather than just keep up with it. We cover threats, intelligence, policy, business and the people behind all of them, with sharp analysis, considered reporting and none of the noise.
In intelligence reporting, the tearline is the line on the page that separates what's classified from what can be shared. Everything below it is written to be passed on. That's the spirit of this publication: the substance, without the clearance.
With bureaux in Edinburgh and Oxford, Tearline is written by people who have spent their careers inside the industry, not just watching it. We have worked in security operations, intelligence, financial services and investigation, and we write for readers who'd rather have one good story than fifty headlines.
We are building slowly and deliberately. Our newsletter will bring the week's most important stories, and the few worth your time, straight to your inbox. Our podcast will put the people doing the work in front of a microphone. Both are coming soon.
Print is on our horizon. We think cybersecurity deserves a magazine you can hold: something you'd keep on the desk, pass across the table and come back to.
For organisations that want to reach our readers, we offer partner articles and advertising designed to sit properly within the publication, not clutter it.
Tearline is for the curious: security professionals, founders, investors, policymakers and anyone who suspects the story is more interesting than the press release.
